It doesn't hate its own people, it's just that being a part of any nation-state involves some element of self-sacrifice. The natural order is that kings shall rule, serfs shall serve, and freedom is a privilege, not a right. The Enlightenment-era concept of natural rights is just an entitlement attitude and needs to be rejected.

It just doesn't lavishly spoil its people as much as it could afford to in the 1950s because it's not physically sustainable now like it was then.
Spend a week in India and then get back to me on governments that neglect their people.

The ones doing it in San Fran are drug addicts who deserve nothing. It does the Indian peasants a disservice to be compared to those """"people"""".

the point is we should HAVE people like that in a modern country
it was practically unthinkable to see this sort of en masse like you today in the 80's
sure were homeless people then, but NOTHING like today

Back in the 80s we were more comfortable with letting natural selection take its course. The more lives are preserved through pity, the more pitiable people are visible to arouse even more pity, and pity thereby creates more and more demand for itself the more you indulge it, a feedback loop. This is why it's a fool's errand to begin trying to solve or even mitigate poverty.
The world is just.

Basically [*img*]image url (except with the https:// part removed)[*/img*] also remove asterisks.
Looks kind of lame ngl, and not sure if I want to keep it.
